In regards to the test on Tuesday, is the formula sheet going to be helpful at all? I noticed that there were parts lacking formulas on the last test.

Also, can we get a good review tomorrow? The last review was kind of, well, not helpful.

You got the formula sheet in class on Thurs right? If not I can scan it and send to you.

Yeah, I got the sheet. Thank you. The review was fairly helpful, and I think it might help out.

Sure thing. Does anyone know if there is a link around for the homework solutions for the ones that will be covered on test 2? Maybe I spazzed and just missed an email of something, but I cant seem to find it.

Nevermind. If anyone wants the solutions to HW6, they are on the main page. Just click HW 6 listed with the rest of the homeworks; the answers are included

Alright, so seriously, about that test...I have a few recommendations:

1) If you're going to give us an equation sheet, at least make it useful. The one today was really pointless. At least 2/3 of it never got used.

2) More problems asked than we had to study. Sure we had a few example problems, but only a few of them actually helped. I know I might regret saying this, but please give us homework problems more like what we'd see on a test.

3) Angelo - Actually do a review. Work through a few problems. Answer the questions more knowledgeably. Be more available.

I suggest stopping by office hours. A reminder that they are every Tuesday and Thursday in BR 4179 unless otherwise stated in class. If you need me to be available at other times, send me an email, and we can try to set up another time to meet which I have done this semester with other students.

Frankly, I would have come to office hours had I any indication that I did not understand any of this material. As it was, I understood the great majority of it and felt confident going into the exam. I don't think going to office hours on stuff that I felt like I understood would have helped at all.

What WE as the class need is more practice problems that are harder and more like what we would see on an exam. The homeworks as it is are a joke and come almost straight out of the notes.

What WE need is an equation sheet that helps. Letting us make our equation sheet for the final would help immensely. As Youn was informed this morning, the equation sheet made things worse!

I never thought I would actually say this, but I really miss Dr. Howard's class and how the formulas pertinent to the exam were given, and ones that were not relevant were not given.

I agree with Kevin's comments, and I find it ridiculous that the correct solutions for Homework 6 were e-mailed to the students on the Saturday after a Tuesday test. How can that possibly be beneficial to the students at this point? I am fed up with Yuan's inability to attend class regularly and leave the test reviews in Angelo's hands. Professor Yuan does not seem the least bit interested in the class's performance, and it is made obvious by giving us a test with more problems than we had practice problems to work out.

The formula sheet was not very helpful for this exam, as about 2/3rds of the material on the sheet wasnt used on the exam
